Ellie's been driving a ball into the goal by kicking and heading it lately. Any ideas what she is up to?
That's right... she is a beginning soccer player!
I cannot emphasize enough how fun this has been. It is a new adventure for us because she has only done swimming and dance- both graceful activities! Here are some funny things that have come out of playing soccer during her first 3 practices . . .
- She was dribbling the soccer ball with her hands out like she was dancing! So cute but we quickly corrected that habit.
- She has her soccer practice outfits picked out and set aside.
- She was having a hard time being aggressive. I told her you have to just get in and take that ball away. With a confused face, she asked why she wouldn't get in trouble since she is never allowed to take things that others are playing with!
- On practice days she has her shin guards, socks, and shoes all ready HOURS before we leave.
